About Cindy
Who Am I?
My Reiki journey began as a journey of self-exploration. Spiritually lost and looking for a sense of joy and peace.
I started with meditation practice and continued that practice. Believe me it was challenging. I had a hard time shutting my mind off. Then I started reading about Reiki and decided to give it a try. I had a session with a practitioner and loved the feeling of tranquility that I left with.
I thought why not? Maybe I would like to try doing it myself. I found a Shihan (master-teacher) that I connected with and took my first level classes. I even convinced my husband to take the first level classes. At first, I will admit, it was all about me. However, as I continued in my studies, I wanted to share Reiki with anyone who would listen.
The practice of Reiki, yes you do have to practice, is a journey of self-discovery. I don’t want to say it is life-coaching, but I truly feel like it is. In the 4 1/2-year process from level 1 to becoming the highest-level practitioner and teacher I found a sense of who I am and what my purpose. I found balance and harmony in mind, body, and spirit. It may not be like this for everyone but that was my journey.
I studied the eastern philosophy of Reiki because I was looking for the purest form. It is sometimes called “Right Reiki”. My Shihan studied with one of the early practitioners from Japan. I love the history of Reiki and all it stands for.
My mission is to help others lead a more peaceful life, to heal on many levels, and to improve the happiness of others. Even if it is just while they are receiving a Reiki session from me.
Mikao Usui, the founder of Usui Reiki Ryoho was looking for “what is the greatest purpose in life”, I believe not just for himself but for everyone.
